Biography

    Kayla Cromer was born in Spartanburg,South Carolina in 1996. Currently, she is in the process of obtaining her Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art at Converse College. Cromer has always been intrigued by the complexity of the human form. Later in life, she began to focus more portraiture. To Cromer, vibrant colors bring excitement to an artwork. To combine the two, Cromer creates detailed portraits that have various bright colors embedded in the skin tones. Lately, Cromer’s work focuses on people in beautiful landscapes, and she makes composite images to illustrate specific ideas. Her concept focuses on a biblical theme of living in a perfect earthly paradise where the effects of sin and death are no more. This theme is related to her faith however, Cromer strives to help her viewers reflect on what a peaceful paradise means to them.

Kayla Cromer now lives and works at her home in Chesnee, South Carolina.
